Hello All,
There is a member threatening to come on this VA making it really difficult to get on the Leaderboards. He is a sandbagger and if he chooses to fly for this VA most of his flights will be without him actually there.
Although some of the rules on the website are very blury I think we should do a poll whether untrue simmers like this should be allowed to fly with us or have their unmanned PIREPs Rejected

Hi Joseph,
I understand your point however here at VirtualTCX we like to have a laid back approach to flying. We understand that people have lives outside of the flying world and therefore might need to pop away from the screen in order to get some things done. Furthermore we currently use (and our very happy to use) Smartcars 2 to track flights. This system does not have a position report module within it and we do not plan to make one.
As a result we allow anyone to fly with us.

Sometimes we need to be out of the cockpit to do a normal thing like make a brew , go to the toilet or grab something to eat most simmers I know fly IFR flights so the simulator ATC will call you a few time,s and then cancel the IFR flight the point I am making is sometimes we need to be out of the cockpit because we are all human with human needs if one was to set up a flight take off leave it to its own devices come back and land the aircraft and claim the hours well that,s up to them I think they are only cheating themselves out of the enjoyment of flight simming and cheating the VA and they might as well sell all their flight sim stuff and give it up as it would be a compleate wasted excuse of time and exercise

I don't necessarily agree, that they would be "cheating the VA" but I agree 100% that they are spoiling they`re own experience,
I would love to do long haul flight every day, land turn-around and head straight back to Gatwick etc, and I suppose that is possible, but I wont do that because of other commitments (work, family, etc) I only do longhaul when I can commit the time, rather than leave the sim unmanned for 10 hours just to gain the hours, (and even then, I have to leave the controls at times I am not there 100% of the time
flight simming is meant to be fun,
my opinion is that, if someone would like to spoil the sim for themselves, just so they can be ontop of leader boards etc, then that is entirely upto them. |
